The Jordan Valley… A Perfect Destination

Mother Nature has been throwing all she has to offer at us this past week! Gorgeous displays of fall color, sunshine, rain, wind, snow, sleet, rainbows…we have seen it all! Some areas have even had significant amounts of snow on the ground and it is just the middle of October! Some of the forecasters are predicting a “true, hard winter” with plenty of show and cold temperatures. The fruit trees are loaded with fruit which many feel predicts a tough winter ahead. I will hold my predictions until next spring!

It is not too soon to schedule your plans to visit or re-visit the spectacular Jordan Valley and River this upcoming winter season. From a beautiful snowmobile ride on the Jordan Valley Snowmobile Trail or a raft trip down Michigan’s first wild and scenic Jordan River, get out and enjoy winter! My family and I just experienced a fall raft trip down the Jordan River this past weekend and as our guide Al said, “In my 70 years of being on the Jordan River, it is never the same river twice.”

Organizers of the East Jordan Sno-Blast Winter Festival have begun meeting to plan the 43rd Annual Event scheduled for February 17 – 19, 2023. Visit the Chamber website at ejchamber.org for schedule of events.

While in the area, be sure to check out the Sky Bridge – “The world’s longest timber towered suspension bridge” which just opened on October 16th at Boyne Mountain in Boyne Falls. The East Jordan Area Chamber of Commerce staff were on hand for the bridge’s ribbon cutting and opening ceremony. It is truly a magnificent and memorable attraction and experience!

Looking forward to having you, your family and friends visit our area!

Most sincerely,
