Racers Questions

Who got you into snowmobiling and when; what was their influence in your regard to the sport?
My parents, I started riding snowmobiles at a very young age behind our house. The first sled I rode was a Ski Doo citation with an impact socket taped to the handle because I just wanted to hold the throttle wide open. This got me hooked into snowmobiling, my brothers and I would race each other around the yard on them and all the local trails growing up. We spent most all of our free time each winter out riding. Both of my parents used to race snowmobiles and it is a passion that has been passed on to us.

When did you start racing and what is your proudest achievement so far on the track?
I began racing when I was 8 years old with go carts. I was having a hard time finding school interesting and my grades reflected that. I had pestered my dad about getting a go cart because I really wanted to race. He made a deal with me that if I raised my grades up in school then he would get one, about a month later we hit the track racing. Over the years I have raced dirt bikes, cars and basically anything with a motor. I began snowmobile racing in 2013 at the TC 250 on the vintage single cylinders, then getting an opportunity to race a pro mod enduro sled in the semi pro class for a season and a pro enduro race at the end of the season. The following season I was given the opportunity to run in the pro enduros and have been since 2016. My proudest achievement so far is placing 4th in the World Championship at Eagle River in the formula 3 class.

What is your career goal?
My career goal is to win the Soo I-500 and the World Championship in Eagle River.

How did you become part of this racing team?
My brothers and I all race ice ovals and raced for a few different teams for a few years. In 2019 we decided to start our own team, with the support of our family, friends and sponsors we began Town Brothers Racing.

Owners Question

When did you start racing and what is your proudest achievement so far on the track?
It is hard to only list one as I am extremely proud of our team. Last season at Eagle River I was set up to run our F-3 for the world championship. I was unable to be at the track until late Friday evening, so Stephen ran the sled in Fridays events. I was about an hour from the track and during a heat Stephen had an off injuring him and damaging the sled. When I got to the trailer every one is working on the sled trying to get it back together and making plans for the next morning to make a parts run. On Saturday we got to the trailer and got the F-3 all back together and ready to go, later in the day I took the enduro sled out for qualifying and a part in the suspension broke which led to not making it into the pro enduro race Sunday. When the part broke it wasn’t just replacing it as it caused other damage so we parked the sled next to the trailer and put our focus on the F-3 for Sunday. On Sunday we were going over the F-3 and getting everything ready to go for the world championship, we were then approached and informed that we had a spot in the enduro if we could get our sled back together. Without hesitation everyone got to work and busted their butt up to get the enduro sled ready to go. I went out to race our F-3 in the world championship and they kept working putting it back together, with only minutes before the enduro sleds were hitting the ice the sled was finished and ready. All weekend long the team worked hard wrenching on the sleds, pulling the sleds back and forth to the entrance and battling each obstacle. We ended up with a 4th place finish in the World Championship for the F-3. It truly was a team effort and my proudest achievement as an owner of the Town Brothers Racing Team.

Racers Questions

Who got you into snowmobiling and when; what was their influence on your regard to the sport?
My parents – As far back as I can remember we were always out riding snowmobiles in the winter. We would spend our free time in the winter riding around our backyard and eventually on trails around Northern Michigan. It was a great way to spend time with family and friends.

Additionally, my dad raced ice oval sleds and my mom drag raced back in the day! Snowmobiling has always been a family affair for us, and it makes me proud that we have turned that passion into our family racing team.

When did you start racing and what is your proudest achievement so far on the track?
I started racing in vintage single cylinder snowmobiles at the TC250 in 2013. After a few years, I got the opportunity to ride a Pro Mod Enduro sled and I was hooked. My proudest achievement on track so far is finishing 4th place at the World Championship Pro Enduro in Eagle River.

What is your career goal?
My career goal is to win the Eagle River World Championship Pro Enduro or the Soo I-500. Our team is continuing to get better each year and we are excited for the upcoming 2023 race season.

How did you become part of this racing team?
My two brothers and I all race ice oval enduros. We had the opportunity to race for a couple other teams to get started in the sport. After a few years of racing for other teams, we decided it was time to start our own. With support from our entire extended family and our sponsors, we were able to start building Town Brothers Racing.

Owners Questions

Who got you into snowmobiling and when; what was their influence in your regard to the sport?
Same as above – Our team is owned by the three Town Brothers – Matt Town, Stephen Town, Tyler Town.

When did you start racing and what is your proudest achievement so far on the track?
My proudest team owner achievements happened during the 2022 race season at the Eagle River World Championship.

During the first race at Friday Night Thunder, I fell off our F-3 sled and broke my collar bone. This injury unfortunately made me sit out of racing for the entire weekend. The sled had some damages (as well as myself), but our entire team worked late into Friday night after the race and repaired the sled so that my brother could continue to race it.

The next day also came with some challenges. During qualifying for the enduro race, our suspension broke on the sled, and we were not able to make it into the enduro race that takes place on Sunday evening. However, on Sunday morning while we were preparing for the F-3 race, we were informed that a team dropped out of the enduro and had a spot if we could get the sled fixed.

Instantly the team went into fixing the sled without a moment of hesitation. Every member of our team worked feverishly all morning to repair our enduro sled that had broken yesterday and preparing our F-3 sled for the World Championship. It was a true team effort, and we were able to get the sleds ready for the track just minutes before they were required to be out on the ice!

At the end of it all, we were able to pull off a 4th place in the World Championship after fighting through adversity all weekend. I was extremely proud of the entire Town Brothers Racing team that weekend and it is my proudest achievement so far with them.

What is your career goal?
Same as above.

Racers Questions

Who got you into snowmobiling and when; what was their influence on your regard to the sport?
Our dad got us into racing at a young age. My brothers and I all started with go carts when I was about 5 yeas old. He raced dirt cars when we were growing up (modifieds and late models), after that he started racing ice oval later in his career which started our interest in snowmobile racing.  He has always been apart of our racing careers pushing us to be better and providing advice along the way.

When did you start racing and what is your proudest achievement so far on the track?
I started racing go carts at 5, moved from that into dirt bikes and cars. I didn’t start racing snowmobiles until I was 16. Racing vintage snowmobiles in the TC 250 then on to a vintage 440 superstock my dad built at MIRA. From there I ran one year of the pro enduros in 2019, then was picked up by Kovar Racing for Lincoln that year and have been with them since. I run a few classes on Saturday (single mod, 440 super stock, open 600, and the old mod enduro with TBR).

My proudest achievement is a tough one, I have a three-way tie. The first was running at Eagle River with my brother Stephen, it was the second year they ran the full enduro series and we were running 2nd with just a few laps to go on their Skidoo, I had a small miscalculation in turn 2 and hit the inside bank. We ended up getting 4th. The second was this year winning at the WC weekend in Eagle River with our old mod enduro sled. The third was up at Raber Bay this year, my brother Matt and I won the pro 600 enduro.

What is your career goal?
My career goal is to win the Soo I-500 and a points championship with MIRA.

How did you become part of this racing team?
My brothers and I have always been very close growing up and when they started a race team, I wanted to be apart of it. That being said I love racing for Kovar so I had to get creative and we built a few sprint sleds that I could run to be a part of TBR and am lucky enough to fill in on their enduro sled occasionally. •
