Vintahe Sled: 1971 Boa Ski Coffin Racer

Boa Skis for 1971 were made by Giffen Recreational Limited, based in Montreal and an office in Florida.  In 1971, Boa Ski entered the race circuit with this racer, Nicknamed the Coffin Racer (because of the seat) and only 30 were made.  There are only 3 known to be left.

George Nauman and his brother-in-law, Bob Rainey had a dealership in Milwaukee, WI. George sold Boa-Skas from 1968 – 1974.

Gary Bogenschutz bought this machine from Gorge in 2019.  George had it stored in a delivery truck body ( a true barn find). Gary cleaned it up and got it running with the help of Don Soukup (Vintage Polaris Parts), who found a piston and gaskets for it.

This machine was raced in Door County and in Northeast Wisconsin.
