Summer is upon us and the activities and events are endless! Many thanks to all of the individuals (many are volunteers), organizations and businesses (many are small, locally owned) helping to make all of these wonderful festivals, shows, recreational events and activities possible for local residents and visitors to enjoy. From parades, concerts, carnival rides, races, car shows, boat shows and much more! There is certainly something for all ages to experience and make memories at. The Breezeway Communities of East Jordan, Ellsworth and Atwood offer great celebrations and festivals, while still offering so many ways to escape to the quiet wild and scenic areas also! With four nature preserves located along the C-48 Breezeway route and many others just a few miles off the route, there are plenty of acres available to hike and absorb the natural beauty of our region. Hiking Trail maps and preserve information can be accesses at the Chamber Office or on our Chamber website or the Little Traverse Conservancy’s website at www.landtrust.org.
Another great adventure to explore is the Jordan Valley Pathway in the Jordan River Valley. There are two hiking options – an 18 mile hiking trail or a smaller loop to experience the scenic Jordan River Valley. The Jordan River and the Chain of Lakes Water Trail offer experiences for kayakers and canoeists. Be sure to check the Chamber’s website for information on local outfitters, etc. Don’t waste another minute inside! Get outside and explore ALL there is to enjoy and experience in our communities! Please be sure to enjoy our wonderful restaurants, shops and other local attractions as you visit.
Congratulations to Raven Hill Discovery Center in East Jordan located along The Breezeway celebrating 30 years!! If you have not visited Raven Hill or haven’t recently, make sure to visit this amazing science, history and art “hands-on” center. It is a learning experience for all ages!
