The Mariner North
Wild, beautiful, uncrowded, unspoiled. Copper Harbor is all these things. For adventures off the beaten path, the Harbor offers the north bookend of the largest trail system in the state….235 miles of beautifully groomed trails. Keweenaw Peninsula is a snowmobiler’s paradise—trails right to the tip on the shore of Lake Superior, over Brockway Mountain with a view right down the northcoast, and deep through our wild forests where you will find anything but straight and flat. The same lake effect that keeps us cooler in summer, keeps us warmer in the winter than our neighbors to the west and south and contributes to the deep snowfalls averaging 275 in a year!!
Both trails entering Copper Harbor will land you in the parking lot of The Mariner North, so you can snowmobile straight to the main lodge that houses the restaurant and bar or to your motel room or cabin. All units have an oversized, private whirlpool, and the motel rooms all have a minimum of 2 queens, refrigerator and coffee stations. Our 2-story log cabins have 2 bedrooms each with a queen and twin and sleep six. The kitchens are completely equipped and the cabins are very spacious.
Whether ravenous from a full day on the trails with the invigorating Keweenaw air or just looking for a light snack, The Mariner North menu is ready for you! Our menu offers hearty, 2-handed sandwiches, a selection of huge salads, homemade soups and great appetizers. The dinner menu boasts Chargrilled Steaks, Fresh Lake Superior Fish, BBQ Ribs and Homemade Spaghetti to highlight a few.
